Oops...forgot to include the following:


- Have checked all hardware, cables, and connectors, including trying
other floppy drives

Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

Try to reinstall the floppy controller driver. On control
panel->system->hardware->device manager->Floppy controller Right click and
choose uninstall. Restart your computer.
